1. What is the Cancellation & Refund Policy

Kerala Forest Development Corporation Ltd believes in helping its customers as far as possible, and has therefore a liberal cancellation policy. Under this policy:

Cancellation made on and before 10 days of arrival date,
90% of the invoice amount will be refunded.

Cancellation made before 9 days and within 6 days of arrival,
75% of the invoice amount will be refunded.

Cancellation made before 5 days and within 3 days of arrival,
50% of the invoice amount will be refunded.

Cancellation made before 2 days and within 0 day of arrival,
No refund

Note: Above mentioned refund is excluding credit card charges

2. How can I reschedule my booking?

You can reschedule your booking before making payment. Once you made the payment in advance, you can’t reschedule the date. You need to cancel the booking and need to book again.

3. What about payment terms?

You can make the payment through online by Net banking or card. It may include Room rate with Tax and Service/ Online charge.

4. When will I get my refund?

It is a mandatory process. So, the refund is made according to the cancellation policies of KFDC and the amount will be given by a cheque in the name of booking person and it will deliver to you by a post. For that, you have to send a mail to the ecotourism centre.

5. How to cancel a booking?

Send a mail to respective ecotourism centres e-mail id’s. Refund is made according to the cancellation policies of KFDC.

6. How to change the Login password?

There is an option called Change password in your profile. Go through it. It will ask for 3 fields such as Old password, New Password and Confirm password. Give your existing password in the column old Password. Enter new Password in the respective column and re-enter the same in the third column to confirm. Then click on the Change Password button.

7. What can I expect from Kerala trip?

8. Which is the best time to visit?

The winter months (December to February) are by far the best time to visit Munnar since the weather is pleasant. The minimum temperature of this time period around 10 degree Celsius also it is the best time for a honeymoon or vacation. June to September is the monsoon season in Munnar and even though many tourists avoid Munnar during the monsoons, this is a great time to visit the hill station if you’re looking for a quiet vacation.


September to February is the most suitable time to visit Gavi. You will be definitely get a cool and chilling experience at this season. If you will plan your visit from June to September then you can enjoy the heavy monsoon at the beautiful place Gavi.


Nelliyanmpathy is one of the best destination to visit all year round in India. The main and attractive factor about this area is the temperature remains ideal and comfortable throughout the year for the people who loves nature and also it provide mesmerizing sightseeing opportunities.


The winters begins in December and lasts till February in Arippa. At that time the climate will be pleasant and temperature ranges between 12°C to 31°C. Therefore, it must be the best season for planning a fantastic trip to Arippa.

9. Where should I write review/feedback of trip?

You have a Contact Form to give feedback about the trip under the head Contact. Give your name, email Id, Subject and write your review there.

10. Is there any age restrictions?

There are no restrictions for tourist age. The tourists should be mentally and physically comfortable to do the trip.

GENERAL DO'S AND DON’TS FOR ALL KFDC DESTINATION

  • Take weather advisory seriously and gear up for the weather. Days can get sunny and nights can be chill.
  • Be aware of your capabilities and the dangers posed by the trip.
  • Be aware of applicable restrictions and regulations of the site.
  • Seek the assistance of a guide while going into the forests.
  • Trekkers are advised to ensure their safety and carry necessary medical kit.
  • Always remain inside your accommodation at night.
  • Be sensitive to local culture and customs. Seek consent of people before taking their photographs.
  • Respect the privacy of fellow guests.
  • Keep your belongings safely.
  • Maintain a safe distance from all wildlife. Be aware that animals are wild and can be dangerous.
  • Do not expect to see animals all the time. Be patient. Total silence and discipline are required to spot wild animals.
  • Do not disturb wildlife by making noises, flashing lights or sudden movements that may frighten animals.
  • Do not tease, chase or feed animals.
  • Do not litter (food, plastic or anything else) and ensure that waste is disposed only in dustbins.
  • Do not collect any form of plants or animals from any locations.
  • Do not damage plants, by walking, driving, or landing on extensive moss beds or lichen-covered areas.
  • Do not damage any property or takeway items from the room.
  • Do not wear colourful clothes, body spray or perfume.
  • Do not smoke. Avoid drink.
  • Do not try to explore unfamiliar things.

Do’s AND Don’ts OF A TREK OR A HIKE

Do’s

  • Study or have a rough idea about the trek.
  • Follow instructions of your trek guide
  • Get good quality hiking / trekking shoes.
  • Wear comfortable clothes and camouflaged in the forest
  • Drink lots of water to stay hydrated, as dehydration may lead to mountain sickness.
  • Munch on healthy food like energy bars and dry fruits on a frequent basis to keep your energy levels high throughout the trek.
  • Do stretching exercise before you start the trek and cool-down exercise once trek is completed for the day
  • Help other fellow trekkers by motivating
  • Be a responsible traveller. Take your waste back with you
  • Pack light and bring reusable items
  • Take happy memories along with you and leave only footprints.
  • Carry an emergency contact number in your backpack.
  • Please inform your family or friends about your trek.

Don’ts

  • Avoid wearing cotton clothes at high altitude (wear synthetic materials)
  • Don’t make loud noises while trekking
  • Don’t litter. We are trekking amidst nature, hence let us not pollute the environment and cause harm to its natural habitats.
  • Don’t wander off from the group or trek alone.
  • Don’t feed wild animals.
  • Don’t click photographs of people, without their permission.
  • Avoid using earphones or loud music. Be wary of dangers that surround you.
  • Don’t take too many breaks while trekking as you may not reach the camping site back before dusk.
  • Never carry much more than what is required as you tend to lose more energy and you will become tired easily.
  • Don’t use body spray or perfume, so it reduces the chance of wild life sighting.
  • Don’t drink or smoke while on a trek
  • Never tease a wild animal. If an elephant chases you, run downhill.
